Current Technical Assistance Work and Funders

Lava Beds–Butte Valley Resource Conservation District participates in the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Technical Assistance Program, supporting the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in the Tulelake Field Office. Through this program, our staff assists landowners with EQIP, CSP, and COTA by providing field assessments, outreach, application support, and general office assistance to expand NRCS capacity.

The District also receives support through the North Coast Resource Partnership’s Agreement with the North Coast Durable Collaborative, which strengthens our wildfire prevention and forest management technical assistance. This funding allows us to engage landowners, develop early project concepts, support community wildfire preparedness, and work with regional partners to advance forest health and resilience. As part of this effort, we are expanding capacity for juniper management to address encroachment, improve rangeland health, and reduce wildfire risk in priority areas.
