Hanna Chittenden
District Manager

Hanna leads district operations, program management, and partnership coordination for landscape-scale conservation. She brings strong experience in grant writing, program development, and watershed and rangeland restoration. As District Manager, she secures state, federal, private, and regional funding to support district initiatives and works closely with agencies and partners to advance high-priority conservation projects and expand the district’s technical assistance capacity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Nazareth University. Hanna has been reactivating the district, with full board support, while on family military orders in Germany to help rebuild local conservation leadership in the Lava Beds–Butte Valley region.

Andrew Weiss
Project Manager

Andrew supports NRCS technical assistance and district projects with expertise in natural resource management, field assessments, and landowner engagement. He brings experience from the California Conservation Corps and U.S. Forest Service, supervising crews, implementing restoration projects, and conducting ecological surveys. Andrew assists with conservation planning, project implementation, community outreach, and landowner engagement, strengthening local capacity for wildfire prevention, forest management, juniper management, and working lands stewardship. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and Protection with a concentration in Economics-Statistics from California Polytechnic State University, and has hands-on field experience in forest management, native plant restoration, erosion control, and land management practices.
